NEEZY'S NEIGHBORHOOD : WHATSUPWALLY
Going to try a new column for my blog called “NEEZY’S NEIGHBORHOOD”. One of the things I can’t ever forget is that I have been blessed with great friends. Friends that do great things with their lives, and keep pushing me to do better. Friends that I’ve been able to meet because of my crazy job! So here we go!

Made a trip down to Orange County for this first entry of NEEZY’S NEIGHBORHOOD.
I’m not usually a fan of “THE OC” but this trip was long overdue.

So meet Wallace Vu aka WhatsupWally. I’ve mentioned Wally a good amount of times on my twitters/tumblr. He’s the guy behind me laughing at me while I make a fool of myself on my 25th birthday at ECCO. Its a old picture, and we’ve done a lot more since then but I think this captures our friendship pretty well. One of us does something stupid, and the other one is there to laugh and capture it and remind us of it the next day. And although he’s laughing his ass off here, he’s standing on the table too, to make sure I don’t fall (Wow, so deep right? Lol.)
So who’s Wally? Wally is one of the Senior Marketing guys at ORISUE. A men’s line based out in Orange County, a clothing line that have clothed the majority of the youth in Southern California and the rest of the world. Wally was there from the start and told me that this was something he really believed in and ever since I’ve always supported him anyway that I could. Fast forward a couple years and they have been gearing up some of the biggest artists in the world from Rick Ross to Far East Movement. They started off as a streetwear company but have really evolved into something that so much more. A lot of it is due to this guy here. He’s been putting a lot of work into making sure that the visiblity of ORISUE was really out there.

So when I got there I had mentioned that I’ve never had Wingstop and we decided to go there and try it out! I was very much excited.

So I’ve known Wally since my early early days of promoting. I think I was like 20? I’m not sure. All I remember is that we first met at one of the most historic nightclubs in Los Angeles (Century Club in Century City). Big ups if you’re old enough to remember Century Club. He was with Spots, I was with Proof positive. A lot has changed since then (companies, job titles, parties, people.) But the one thing thats stayed pretty constant was our friendship. If anything the past 2 years or so we’ve actually got a lot closer, and through that we’ve actually grown a lot as business men learning from each other.
Since we hadn’t seen each other in a long time, we caught each other up on our personal lives, work, music, and just bullshit. After that headed back to the ORISUE HQ.

When I got back there I got into a 1 hour conversation with Richard Vaughn (Head of the Marketing dept) for ORISUE. One hour isn’t even that long since most of our marketing convos last for at least 3 hours at average. lol. Richard has also been a big influence on my work life, but that’ll be another story on another day.
